Scholarships
As indicated in the Financial Information page there are NO tuition fees for PhD students. Consequently scholarships relate only to salaries. If you got accepted in the computer engineering program there are the following possibilities: 1.
Accepted
with no scholarship. The student will provide by him/her self (living, traveling,
insurance etc.) financing. Please note that the student is responsible to
provide the financing for the duration of the program which is four years. 2.
Accepted
with a scholarship from the industry. We are welcome people that will like to do part time /
full time PhD studies while working. In case you work and you are accepted in
pursuing a PhD part / full time it is understood that all your expenses are
paid by your employer. 3.
Accepted
from university scholarships. These scholarships are infrequent. A specific salary
for four years is provided to the student. 4.
Accepted
with a research assistantship. Research assistantships are given to the group on the
basis of accepted research proposal. The fund come generally from science
foundations (EU, and NL) and industries (EU or wide). Such scholarships are
provided with a salary for four years. They are given immediately based on
the qualifications of the candidates. 5.
Accepted
with a scholarship given by an organization. The following are some agencies and
scholarships you can possible apply. (Please note that for most
scholarships you have to be accepted for your PhD study before

(Taiwan) Fellowships Organization: Netherlands
Organization of International Cooperation in Higher Education (Nuffic) The fellowships, which are granted for the
duration of the PhD program, include the tuition fee plus the costs of
international travel, subsistence, books, and health insurance. Organization:
Netherlands Organization of International Cooperation in Higher Education
(Nuffic) Students from various (developed and developing)
countries may be eligible for the ‘Huygens Scholarship Program’. Huygens
offers partial scholarships (partial tuition fees plus partial living

Netherlands Education Center, Jakarta Students
from Indonesia may be eligible for the STUNED scholarship program. STUNED
gives priority to candidates who work for the Indonesian government and/or
who are employed in the field of education. Organization:
Netherlands Trade & Investment Office (NTIO) The scholarship aims at Taiwanese nationals holding
qualifying degrees from Taiwanese universities. In May
2000, Delft University of Technology of the Netherlands joined the Y.C. Lo
Scholarship for Post-Graduate Studies in the Netherlands. The TU Delft / NTIO
Scholarship supports talented Taiwan graduates and young professionals
pursuing Master of Science programs at Delft University of Technology. Contact the Netherlands

Delft To stimulate ties with four selected countries,
Indonesia, South Africa, China and Taiwan, TU Delft - like other universities
in the Netherlands - receives a grant from the Nuffic Delta Program. The
University uses these funds to finance projects such as scholarships for PhD
students. TU Delft also funds a limited number of full or
partial scholarships for highly talented prospective students - from all countries - who have not been able to
obtain a scholarship elsewhere. Both scholarships funded by the Nuffic Delta
Program and TU Delft are granted strictly at TU Delft’s discretion, which
means that students cannot apply for these scholarships themselves. Organization: The
Netherland-America Foundation The Dutch Fulbright Commission wishes to attract
students working toward their M.A. degrees who can carry out well-formulated,
independent research projects without supervision by Dutch scholars. The
Commission also encourages applications from graduate students whose projects
involve full-time study, or combine independent research and advanced courses

European Commission The Alßan Program aims at the reinforcement of the
European Union - Latin America co-operation in the area of Higher Education
and covers studies for postgraduates as well as higher training for Latin
America professionals/future decision makers, in institutions or centers in
the European Union. The first grantees of the Alßan
Program will enroll in postgraduate - master and doctorate - or higher
specialized training from the academic year 2003/2004. The periods of
education and training may range from 6 months to 3 years depending on the
level and the education/training program envisaged. Organization:
International Business Machines (IBM) The IBM PhD Fellowship Program
is intended to honor exceptional PhD students in disciplines of mutual
interest, including: chemistry, computer science, electrical engineering,
materials science, mathematics, mechanical engineering and physics, as well
as emerging technical fields, such as e-commerce, nanotechnology, and the
computational sciences. The IBM PhD Fellowship Program
also supports our long-standing commitment to workforce diversity. IBM
